We are seeking a talented and driven Fashion/Tech Design Assistant to join our dynamic design team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the bridal and special occasion fashion industry while working alongside experienced designers and product development professionals.
\nThe Fashion/Tech Design Assistant will support various stages of the design process, from trend and market research through design development, sampling, fittings, and final presentations. This role will work closely with the Design, Tech, and Product Development teams, gaining valuable insight into how a design moves from initial concept to finished product.
\n \nResponsibilities
\n• Assist with design research for all collections, ensuring designs align with seasonal trends and brand identity.
\n• Utilize sewing, pattern-making, and garment construction skills to support design development and sampling.
\n• Assist in creating and curating inspirational mood boards and design presentations.
\n• Support the organization and maintenance of the fabric library, ensuring materials are properly cataloged and accessible to the design team.
\n• Prepare for and assist with design review meetings, including organizing samples, presentations, and supporting materials.
\n• Assist with fittings by taking and accurately recording fit notes and communicating updates to the appropriate teams.
\n• Help create and update tech packs, technical sketches, and product specifications.
\n• Accurately input, organize, and maintain product information and data in Microsoft Excel.
\n• Assist with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create digital assets, technical sketches, and presentation materials.
\n• Communicate updates and revisions between the Design, Tech, and Product Development teams.
\n• Maintain organized records of product revisions, changes, and development information.
\n• Collaborate with the team on day-to-day projects and tasks to support workflow and meet project deadlines.
\n• Provide general support to the Design and Product Development teams as needed.
\n \nQualifications & Requirements
\n• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or education in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
\n• Previous fashion design internship or professional design experience preferred.
\n• Strong portfolio demonstrating design and creative skills.
\n• Proficiency in sewing, pattern making, and garment construction.
\n• Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
\n• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formatting, data organization, and basic formulas.
\n• Experience with or interest in technical design, product development, apparel production, and garment construction.
\n• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
\n• Ability to follow technical instructions and clearly document information.
\n• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
\n• Ability to conduct design research and translate findings into creative, commercially relevant ideas.
\n• A keen eye for detail and a strong visual sense.
\n• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
\n• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, adapt, and take on a variety of responsibilities.
